38 இன்பம், துன்பம், லாபம், நஷ்டம், வெற்றி, தோல்வி ஆகியவைகளைச் சமனாகக் கருதி போரில் முனைக, அதனால் நீ பாபம் அடையாய். 2.39 ஆத்ம தத்துவத்தைப் பற்றிய அறிவு உனக்கு புகட்டப்பட்டது. யோகபுத்தியைப் பெறுவாயாகில் நீ கர்ம பந்ததிலிருந்து விடுபடுவாய். 2.38/39 Look upon joy and pain with an equal eye May never the thought of loss or gain affect you, Let victory or defeat be the same to you Thus you must, friend, fight on and, when you do, No shadow of sin shall ever taint your life. 2.40 இதில் முயற்சி வீண்போதல் இல்லை. குற்றமொன்றும் வாராது, இதைச் சிறிது பழகினும் பெரும் பயத்தினின்று இது காப்பாற்றும். 2.40 In the yoga of action nothing you undertake Can ever be vain, nor obstacles prevail. For even an iota of righteousness Friend, shall deliver you from cosmic fear. 2.41 குருகுலத்துதித்தோய், இந்த யோகத்தில் உறுதி கொண்டவனுக்குப் புத்தி ஒன்றேயாம், உறுதி கொள்ளாதவர்களின் புத்திகள் பல கிளைகளையுடையனவும், முடிவற்றவைகளுமாம். 2.41 The intellect of one who comes to accept This yoga is one-pointed and steadfast But the intellect of one who vacillates Iis many-mooded and his mind’s distraught 2.42-44 வேத மொழியில் விருப்பமுடையவர்கள், சுவர்க்கத்தை விளைவிக்கிற கருமத்துக்கு அன்னியம் ஒன்றுமில்லை என்பவர்கள், காமம் நிறைந்தவர். சுவர்க்கமே முடிவான பேறு என்பவர்கள் இத்தகைய அவ்விவேகிகளுடைய புஷ்பாலங்காரமான வசனத்தைக் கேட்டு அறிவு கலங்கப் பெறுவர்க்கும், போக ஐஸ்வரியத்தில் பற்றுடையவர்க்கும் உறுதியான புத்தி உள்ளத்தில் உண்டாவதில்லை. அவர்களுடைய புஷ்பாலங்காரமான சொற்கள் போகத்தை பெறுவதற்கான காமிய கரும துவேஷங்கள் நிறைந்தனவாயும், புதிய பிறவிகளை உண்டு பண்ணுவனவாயும் இருக்கும். 2.42-44 Those who have little discernment and swear by The letter of the Vedas and assert That naught else can avail, who are attached To the joys of paradise and are enthralled By Lovely words which drive them ever on,- Such seekers, swept away by the Vedas’ findings (as interpreted by them), are led astray And so their intellect can never be vowed To cleave unwavering to the Goal-to be Poised in the radiant Superconsciousness.
