3pm update...Arctic air ahead of schedule....scattered showers and t-storms this afternoon with a line of t-storms developing ahead of front up near Wichita Falls. This line will push through all of North Texas this evening. Arctic air then blow in right behind storms. This means we will likely spend all of Friday in the 30s with wind chills of 20-25. Still looks like cold rain on/off Friday for DFW-eastward, areas west of the Metroplex will see some freezing rain. This could produce icy spots on elevated roads. Of more concern is late Saturday night through Sunday when the arctic air becomes even more entrenched and another surge of moisture moves in from the west. Based on current data, sleet appears to be the likely precipitation, with accumulations possible, especially North and west of DFW. Winds shift to the east Sunday night/Monday morning, bringing in milder air which should change the sleet back to rain in many areas. This situation continues to evolve, so stay tuned!
