4/9/2013 OPEN LETTER TO BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS: Dear brothers and Sisters, Praise the Lord. I pray that this letter finds you and your families in good shape. A society without a God is a spoilt one so permit me to begin by thanking you for being highly disciplined and for always acting as good examples in our morally decayed world. It is not easy to be self governing or regulated against doing the wrong but you people are sacrificing and practicing it willingly. Then your faith teaches about caring for one another and you people are doing exactly that very well. You have been able to built orphanages, schools, hospitals etc. You are always there, listening to people in problems and Iam very sure that God will richly reward you. I can`t forget the fact that you people preach and share the good news of the gospel to people which brings healing, comfort and peace to broken hearts. Your impact is felt world over and therefore your presence can`t be taken for granted. I strongly encourage you to continue with the great commission and leave this world a better place. All said, permit me to comment on a few observation I have personally viewed amongst some of you brethren: First of all, God requires you to be FISHERS of men but a number of you are instead FIGHTERS of men. You may ask me how. This is mainly through the fact that you segregate against people who are not born again. You don’t want to be associated with anyone that you think is a SINNER. Instead of fighting sin, you hate Sinners. So how do you expect those people to change if you don’t get close to them? Your number one assignment should be winning the lost soul not “beefing.” I have met a number of you who have made JUDGING your number one job but that is sin itself. The fact that you know a number of verses in the Bible doesn’t not make you an assistant GOD. Then the fact that you never miss attending fellowships doesn’t not necessarily mean that you will just walk into eternity. Talking in tongues can`t also promote you to an assistant Holy spirit. Remember sleeping in a garage can never change you into a car. Neither does sitting with a bishop on the same dining table change you into a REVERAND. You don’t want to get near drunkards, fornicators, smokers, thieves etc just because you claim to be holy but if you read your Bibles carefully, you will realise that the saviour Jesus Christ himself never dwelled in the holy only. Instead he was always with the sinners who he wanted to win over. Therefore, your number one priority should always be the sinners not your demon-chasing brethren. Remember after loving your God, you MUST love ALL your neighbours whether they are believers or not. Secondly, it is very true that faith can move mountains but you should be very careful while practicing your beliefs. You should at no time forget about the reality. Some of you get excited when you listen to prosperity sermons but watch out. The holy book states clearly that God blesses the hands of his people. The same book also commands that whoever doesn`t work should never eat. This means that work is a priority to God. One can therefore genuinely become wealthy after hard work however; most of you strongly believe that after praying, wealth will just come faaaaaaaa. This is a very wrong principle and should therefore be stopped. You must know very clearly that God can only bless you after getting your hands dirty! To quote the words of the late former Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi (Uganda), “God moves with movers.” He can only join you if you have started the journey of work. Then I have heard some spiritual people claim that healing comes after praying and some innocent people have been advised to stop taking medicine while they are sick. That is an equivalent of suicide. Well God is a healer but works through medicine. Holy hands can touch you and heal you but while you are taking medicine. Iam sorry but that is nothing else but the truth! If the missionaries who brought religion to our countries were wise enough to built hospitals near churches, who are you to stop the consumption of the medicine? Are you people more Godly than them? Lastly but certainly not least, I have heard some of you claim superiority over other believers. You strongly believe that the churches you attend, pastors or the ministries you subscribe to are the most correct and therefore a permit to heaven but that is also false. All people of God are equal before him. You strongly believe in the words of your pastors and the methods of doing their work which is wrong. You should instead be rooted in the word of God and the creator himself not the messengers. Some of you are always criticizing other religions that they are erroneous and that yours are very correct but you forget that there are many roads to Rome. If Kings College Budo sends many students to Makerere University, should we conclude that it is the only school in the country and that the other schools are useless? Just as the former archbishop of Uganda, Henry Luke Orombi once stressed it, “If there is any true religion, then it is HEAVEN.” Therefore, so long as any faith preaches the love of God and neighbours, then it will lead the followers to heaven. Remember it is not religion that takes anyone to eternal life but rather SALVATION. Your pastors or religious leaders should never be your conduits to heaven but rather HEARTS. What you are when nobody is watching is what defines you and therefore your number one test for eternity. Otherwise I encourage you to keep fighting the good fight and running the good race to the end. Don’t give up. May we always remember that nothing can match LOVE on this planet.
