40 - Action against Unknown The Titan is the most powerful battleship in the universe - and yet it must hide from his pursuers... The captured super battleship VEAST`ARK is named TITAN by Perry Rhodan. Indeed, the GANYMED can execute by the new invention of the Springers, the Structure Compensator, camouflaged transitions through hyperspace, but the TITAN has not this new technology. Therefore Rhodan accomplishes his transitions to places of the Empire, where many spaceships are frequent. So he can outwit the Robot Regent of Arkon after the fifth transition. He comes near the planet Zalit out of hyperspace, where he wants to hide from arkonid pursuers. The government of Zalit remains his arrival not hidden and they sends out interceptor ships. To find out whats coming up, Rhodan initiates a action of the mutant corps. Ralf Marten should shift into a crew member of the approaching ships. Thereby he enters a Mooff. Ras Tschubai, Tako Kakuta and Gucky teleport to one of the ships and unintentionally cause a little chaos. There, Gucky also discovered a Mooff and learns from his telepathic abilities, that Mooffs have telepathic and weak suggestive abilities, so they can mentally affect other beings. Rhodan lands in the 30 million inhabitants counting city Tagnor, and quickly get an audience with the local rulers. The Zarlt stated that he was not too happy with the dominion of a Non-Arkonide and especially a robot brain. He wants to change this situation by his hand to his favor. Therefor, Rhodan should help with his ship and possibilities. In return, the Zarlt want to hide him on his planet from the positronic brain. Initially, Rhodan is based on the erroneous assumption that the Mooffs are kept as lie detectors and pets, but soon crystallized out that they control and dominate the entire ruling class of the arkonid descendants on Zalit. Thus, the present Zarlt Demesor could be induced to the murder of his predecessor. Advantageously was for the Mooffs that Demesor has similar objectives as the jellyfish-like Mooffs and so only minimal manipulation was needed. Rhodan holds the Zarlt out with the delivering of the mystery of the unrecognized landing on Arkon and decides to kill the Mooffs secretly with the help of the Mutant Corps. He wants to free the people from the yoke of the current Zarlt and therefore supports the more and more growing underground movement against the despot. The movement draw a big house on the one hand by the absence of the suggestions of the killed Mooffs, on the other side by the negative behavior of Demesor. It turns out that behind the Mooffs must still be at least another people, because they alone can purely physically have no interest in the control of the Empire. Also, it is neither their spirit nor their policies. As a government takeover still speaks against Rhodan´s further plans, he secretly prevented a revolution and waits with the rebels for his time.
