48 degrees on my front porch this morning - but here I sit - TopicsExpress

48 degrees on my front porch this morning - but here I sit enjoying every minute of it! Wrapped in a blanket to keep warm, 3rd cup of coffee and breathing in the clean, fresh, nippy air! Oh what a morning!!!! Monday night I did something that I rarely do - I cried most of the night! You ask why? Over a crazy, lovable, 11 year old basset hound dog! Rance had to put Jake to sleep Monday afternoon due to cancer! I hate CANCER and I hate DEATH!!! Jake has been part of our family since he was 6 weeks old and his favorite ingredient in food was strawberries! Ms. Lela made us one of her specialty strawberry pound cakes one year to take to Mayo with us, but the night before we left Jake decided to pull it off the kitchen table and ate the entire cake! Didnt share a morsel with us! When Don passed away my sweet neighbor, Mary Boles, cooked breakfast for our entire family. She brought it over and put it on my stove to keep it warm. Before anyone could get to it, Jake pulled every bit of it off the stove and ate it!! He was a mess!! He brought us joy and showed us unconditional love - wanting nothing in return but love and affection (and maybe a snack, or some of Brittneys Chapstick, or Red Hots! :)) - we all could learn something from an ole hound dog!! What does an ole hound dog have to do with my Saturday morning post? Just a reminder that my Heavenly Father loves me unconditionally and asks nothing in return except for my love! So if you are looking for love - HEs waiting to love you - just open your heart! Good morning from beautiful Alabama!
