48 student killed in Potiskum!!- While I was still imagining how short and cruel life is with the untimely death of the great motivational speaker and pastor, Dr Myles Munroe and his wife and daughter, I scrolled through my Facebook wall to see different eulogies sang of the departed pastor, I however spotted something more striking and newly posted by an Oyinbo friend about Nigeria, it says Live news from Nigeria: Boko Haram bombs Potiskum, 48 students feared dead, i sure wasnt convinced and had to check The Punch newspaper online to confirm the tragedy. Will there be an end to these daily tragedies from the North soon? My take on this issue is very simple, the entity called Nigeria should start preparing for her inevitable death. Without mincing word, as much as i try to be patriotic, nationalistic or optimistic as the case may be, the situation of the Land has never been so appalling, the assertion that Nigeria will cease to be in few years to come is not a matter for debate whether it is certain or not, it is simply a matter of when and how it would happen. Without being too hypocritical, the love in this forced marriage has reached his climax, it is fast descending with no panacea potent enough to arrest the situation. Perhaps, this marriage ordained by the amalgamation of the South and North was designed to peak soon and fail ab initio, the gory picture is now made more visible even to the blind by the incessant waging of war on the state by these despicable group of skunks known as Boko-Haram (May the wrath of God be their portion). Alas, while others may be fast to blame the FG and Pres. Jonathan, I perhaps have another thought, without absolving him of his numerous flaws, this is a war designed by some emperors never to be lost, it is very clear that the situation is beyond mental, tactical and physical control of the govt. Taking a leave from security, nothing seems to be working in the country both at the federal and state government level, they are all too preoccupied with mere politics while leaving behind real polity, they manipulate the youths and citizens with token of their huge windfall from our commonwealth, they take on propaganda to outsmart themselves all in a bid to either keep being in power or grab power at all cost. They love not the masses, they are only a set of opportunist. The problem is not only about the current govt, it is sunk into our past leadership and governments. Can the situation be arrested? I will probably say NO. who is there to redeem the nation? are they not all recycling themselves? of course with no deference to the parties they might presently be supporting. We have lost ethos of our forbears personified by accountability, truthfulness and frugality, no wonder corruption is so endemic. Religion has almost failed the country, it has never been this pronounced. And when some people believe they can forcefully impose their religion, beliefs and way of life others while creating republics inside the Republic, it is a stern warning of the things to come. This to me also signals an end to the alliance. My hypothesis is this, the divorce case is already in the court of reality, I see a revolution coming to act as the judge, and when it does, the resulting fragments would be better for it. As a word for our leaders, i will borrow from the last speech of the departed pastor 16 days ago at the JKL show, he said When you die, die like I am planning to die. Empty. It’s finished. Our leaders must remember they will all die too, and of course very empty and may be soon. No one knows tomorrow. They should do the best they can NOW. May God heal the wounds of the families whose kids were part of the unfortunate ones today. May utter damnation be the portion of the carriers , planners and sponsors of the act. May the peace of God traverse and subdue the whole land. (Amen)
