It is an awakening as to how quickly life changes and how it is up to each of us as individuals to search all avenues to accept the challenge and defeat it as much as possible. I was engaged in the first paragraph and remained so throughout the book. The emotions from each individual touched a place in my heart. The grandmother, who was at a loss and unable to protect her treasured grandson. The mother who struggled to understand and related through experiences with her patients on a different level. The son who had to live through the life change and meet head on the injections, constant tests and sickness. He showed the courage and bravery and determination that it would take to cope and flourish even when it was most challenging. Then, at the helm, the father, the warrior who would not rest until he could help his son. The strategies for coping and for helping Dante live his best life are worthy of examining.
