5c@9 In the 90’s Edwyn Collins (a David Bowie sound-alike) had a hit song with the line, too many protest singers, not enough protest songs. That was then; now we dont have either. I dont agree with Pete Seegers leftism, but the sad thing is, a guy like him could only get some play today if he got hit by Biebers Lamborghini. I changed the title of this nightly devotional to “5c@9” because Facebook kept autocorrecting the original title to include “Nine Inch Nails.” But also because I have a wider message than just pertaining to my Nickel, the thrust of it is we should make the world a better place. I will make that happen by getting people to care, exactly as I got many to care about my son, a stranger to almost all. There is empirical evidence that as a society, we simply care less. Political petitioning has decreased, membership in civic organizations has dropped significantly, public participation is down. So I pray for the next Pete Seeger, left or right. And that he has the decency to mind the speed limit. Inhale exhale
