Greek elections are coming up on the 25th January. These might be historic in that the left wing party SYRIZA is poised to gain power ( in spite of the venomous attacks, threats and huff-puff of the European establishment ). In addition, this might set off a domino effect in unleashing anti-austerity sentiment. ( if SYRIZA refuses to honor the untenable conditions that the previous two govts have agreed to, surely others will follow, Spain, Portugal, Italy....). I dont have high hopes for this, as Greeks notoriously vote for men in suits at the critical moment.. and we certainly dont have the guts of an Ecuador, Argentina or Paraguay... but still, miracles DO happen.
