5th August 2013 The sincere enemy Texts: Mark 12:1-3 Memory Verse: ‘He began to say unto His disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy’ [Mark 12:1b] Devotional thought: You need a discerning Spirit to win the battle of sincere enemies, because the enemy does not even know he is one. Devotion Message Hello dearly beloved. We give glory to the God of all other gods for the gift of wisdom and knowledge. Virtually every one of us has been or is being faced with sincere enemies in our lives but we don’t know it. Have you ever been stopped by somebody who sincerely love you from following the will of God? That is a sincere enemy. It was not that they ever feel bad about you but it’s just that the devil is using their care for you as a cover up. Jesus quickly recognized it when He was saying He had to die by the hands of the chief priests but Peter out of care and emotions really tried to stop Him from saying that and He immediately noticed and rebuked the devil. Peter was not the devil but the devil was hiding under that emotions of Peter and assuming Jesus had relied on that and refused to die then, what would be my own hope today? Sincere enemies don’t want you to face some challenges your life demands to be great because you are inexperienced, too young, and illegitimate or what have you. They are sincere on the face of it but really they are sincerely wrong. Maybe the Lord had bided you to stay in a small town but they feel you are suffering too much there and they want you to come to the big City where you will have more ‘opportunities’. Notice that the advice of a sincere enemy is always pleasing to the ear but deadly if followed. Many people have followed this in life or Ministry and are yet to recover from the consequence. As a child of God you are not expected to do anything without asking for your Father’s opinion on them. They have told you to add a feature to your Ministry, life and family because they are what are in vogue, adding it may spell the salt for the purpose of God in it. Every advice must first be placed on the scale of the Word of God and subjected to the Holy Spirit. Sincere enemies want us to succeed but they have been used by the devil and we need to quickly recognize the devil’s presence. Like a man of God said if the devil opposes you and he does not get to you, the next tactics is joining himself unto you and if you don’t recognize him amidst you on time, he might have wrecked havoc before knowledge. Work on your renewing work of the mind, it really helps in knowing what God wants for you and what He does not want you to be involved in. Shalom PRAYER Lord open my mind and ears to notice the wrong advice when they come. Amen. BIBLE READING PLAN Judges Chapter 5 Hebrews Chapter 10 (Please write down your revelations)
