# 6 - (2) -The fact that he is a person is shown by his appearances on earth. I see Jesus go down into the waters of the Jordan. John the Baptist baptizes him beneath these waters. When he comes up out of the water, the doors of heaven open, a bright light shines on him, a flood of glory descends and rests on the sacred head of our Savior. The Spirit came in the form of a dove, symbolizing gentleness and purity. The Spirit was seen by the brink of the river, even as Jesus came up out of the water, and as God spoke from heaven. Some years later we see a company of disciples in the upper room. Jesus has gone on to heaven and these disciples are waiting for the coming of the Spirit as promised by the Savior. The sound of a rushing mighty wind suddenly fills the house, a bright light shines about them, and cloven tongues as of fire sit on each of them. This was a marvelous appearance of the Holy Spirit in person. An influence cannot appear, nor can an influence be seen. The Holy Spirit was there in person.
