6 years ago today my eldest son Indie was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). For 3years and 6months he had intensive chemo, lost his hair a few times, had chickenpox twice (still has no immunity to it!!) many many blood transfusions, surgeries, stress fracture on his hip etc etc. We spent most of those 3 1/2 years in hospital Christmas and Mothers Day I spent in hospital with my boy, I was heavily pregnant with Korben and Indie was incredibly ill. Ill never forget today which might sounds odd but to me its still very fresh I remember every detail, every word said to me. I almost lost my boy and thats the hardest thing to deal with. 6years on though and hes doing alright hes getting through life with his cheeky witty ways and is my best friend I adore him so much - the love we have and the admiration I have for - well words cannot even describe! So proud of him and my family and even though its not a path I wanted for him its a journey he took in his stride. Crystal Sawyer Lambert became my hospital best friend, Laura Reynolds became indies favourite nurse! Natalie Goldfinch and her family were also a huge support whilst hospital meeting under horrible circumstances but having one of the best Christmases ever!! Jon Guest, Tim Bennett,Jo Bennett for being the best grandparents. Carly Brown & Christian Brown for dropping everything and driving to Southampton to get my house keys for Damien. To Jiminy Cricket for being there and holding me when times were tough and although he cant read this D for giving up a lot and just being there. Then there is my daughter Nya Doodle Butt who had a shitty birthday, missed out on her mum who was palmed off to here or there - I love you loads thank you!! Last but not least all the hospital staff at Southampton, Margate, Ashford, Norfolk, Royal Marsden plus others which escape me!! Anyway sorry for the long status and if Ive forgotten anyone - Ive been through a lot and also have baby brain. Love n Light!!
