70 years ago today, the Gestapo (German Secret State Police) discovered the hiding place of Anne Frank and her family after receiving a tip from an anonymous Dutch caller. Anne perished at Bergen-Belsen the following year, one of the one million children who died in the Holocaust. Following the war, Annes diary was returned to her father, Otto, the lone survivor of his immediate family.
