8/9-8/11/13 Post Race Press Release: It was another long three day weekend at Ukiah Speedway. Go-Karts started off the weekend on Friday night. The track crew prepared a very fast track for the go kart drivers. In the 250 division Ren Eberhart took the fast time again with 9.523. Colby Furia was back to take another trophy dash. Ryann Taylor and Dylan Washburn set the pace for the green flag in the heat race. Taylor took the early lead with Eberhart following. Taylor held off Eberhart through three yellow flag restarts only for Eberhart to take over the lead on lap 4 to go on to take the heat race win. Taylor and Washburn set the pace again for the main event with Taylor again taking the early lead. On lap 7 the first of two yellow flags came out when Washburn and Frankie Pickrell got together on the front stretch. As the green came out Washburn had a solo spin in turns one and two to bring out the caution again. After the green flag Taylor continued the lead until Eberhart took over on lap number 9 never to look back again even through two more cautions and went on to win the main followed by Taylor, Furia and Pickrell. In the Beginning Box Stock division Kylei Keown took the fast time at a 11.177. Cole Brown took the win in the trophy dash. Kendra Land and Kory Ranoos led the field to the green in the heat race with Land leading the first lap. By lap three fast qualifier of Keown came from the back to take the lead and never look back. At the checkers it was Keown that took the win. And to top it off it was a repeat of the heat race for the main event with Land taking the early. Keown again came from the back of the pack to take lead on lap three and taking the win home followed by Shipley, Brown and Ranoos. In Box Stock division Daniel Whitley set the fast time with a 10.494. Joel Myers Jr. took the win in the trophy dash. The 22k of Kaiden Butler went from the back row to take the heat race win. In the main event Alexis Small took the early lead over Caleb Portlock. By lap two Butler was up to the front and took the lead away. Butler went on to win the main event followed by Petrie, Sorrels and Whitley. In the 500 division points leader Marissa Polizzi set the fast time of 9.511. The trophy dash was won by Michael Britton. The first heat was won by Tess Mellor with the fast heat won by Matt Black. In the main event Matt Black and Michael Britton battled for the lead with Black leading the first lap. Black kept the lead until lap number 6 when Polizzi over took it only to relinquish it back to Black on lap number 15 with mechanical issues. Black went on to win the main followed by Hawkins, Britton and Mellor. On Saturday night it was a full night of events. The legends started off the night with returning driver Jeremy Doss setting the fast time with a 14.529. In the heat race there was action before the green flag even flew when the car of James Sturgess and Bill Kistenmacher got tangled up on the back stretch retiring Sturgess for the heat race. After the green flag the race went caution free with Cody Winchel taking the heat race win. The main event was even more action packed as the pack came around turns three and four with Mark Miller and Winchel getting together in turn four sending all but 3 cars hard into the turn four wall with Jeremy Doss ending up on his side. All drivers were ok after the wreck but only left four cars to finish the race. Track officials decided that it was best to reduce the race to 20 laps. At the checkers it was Codi Barba taking the win followed by Sturgess, Winchel and Kistenmacher. The Thunder Roadsters made their return to Ukiah Speedway for the first time this year. David Henderson took the fast time with a 13.944. Both of the heats went caution free with Bruce Ziemer taking the win in the first heat and Tommy Payne taking the win in the second heat. Even after the scary crash in the Legend race driver Jeremy Doss continued his night taking the seat of the 95 of Belinda Ward in the main event. With the driver change that put Doss having to start in the back of the pack. The main event went caution free as well. Ziemer and Robby Nelson took the green with Nelson taking the early lead. Nelson continued his lead until lap number 24 when Payne finally was able to pass to take over the lead. The person that everyone was watching though was the car of Doss which was coming up fast on the leaders. At the checkers it was Payne taking the win followed by Henderson, Doss and Sarvinski. The Extreme Outlaws one of the most exciting race of the night. Steve Taylor set the fast time with a 13.684. The first heat was won by Sierra Furia with Kyle Tellstrom taking the win in the second heat with a black flag warning for rough driving. In the main the front row was made up of two rookies of Furia and Jackson Long that are both doing a wonderful job of adapting to driving in such a competitive class. The two fought back and forth for 8 laps with Furia keeping the lead the whole time and Long staying right there with her. The first yellow came out on lap number 19 with Jones and Brackett tangling on the back stretch. On the restart that put Helm on the outside of Furia. At the green the two battled for the lead going into turn one with Helm going a little high to get into the marbles and causing himself to spin. On the next restart that put Long back on the outside of Furia. And again the two battled until Long took over the lead on lap 21. Tellstrom was working his way up to the front but did not have enough in the end to take the win. Long took his first main event victory in the Outlaw class followed by Tellstrom, Furia and Taylor. The Volvo Rents Mini Stocks fast time was set by James Stillman with a 15.238. Stillman went on to win the heat. In the main event Stillman went on to win yet another main event followed by Peterson Jr, Peterson Sr, Aceves and Chance Smith. The Bandoleros fast time was set by Colby Furia with a 15.395. Dylan Washburn won the heat race. In the main event the Pickrell took the early lead. Pickrell continued the lead up to two laps left to go when Furia took the lead away. On the white flag lap Furia having mechanical issues forced him to the pits allowing Pickrell to take home the win followed by Washburn and Nuno. In the Bomber division fast time was set by Mike Collins with a 15.049. There were three heats in the bomber division. Rick Jelton took the win in the first heat, David Lands III won the second heat and Bob Mook won the third heat. With a full field of bombers in the field was lead to the green by Wayne “Beagle” Taylor on the pole and Brian White on the outside pole. The first yellow came out on lap number 1 with contact between Taylor and Danny Helm. On the restart Raymond Taylor took the lead over David Lands III with Lands taking the lead on lap number 4. A yellow came out again on lap number 11 for debris on the track. On the restart it was Lands on the pole and Collins on outside pole with Collins taking over the lead with Gino Buchignani following. Another yellow came out on lap number 19 for a solo spin of White in turn 4 which put Buchignani on the outside of Collins. With both of these drivers remembering what happened last race on a yellow when they were switched with the second row due to three failed attempts of a good start they got a good start on their second attempt. Collins went on to win following by Buchignani, Mook, and Trystan Mucci. On Sunday was the Flat Track Motorcycles turn to impress the fans. Jim Cole took the fast time in the Vintage Light Weight division with a 12.466. Logan Orsini won the heat race. In the main event fast qualifier of Cole took home the win followed by Orsini, Fletcher and Miller. Brad Miller took the fast time in the 150 Production Division with a 12.129. Michael Mannion won the heat race and also took home the main event win followed by Brad Miller, Clark Miller, and Chris Gray. Brad Miller also took the fast time in the Formula 125 division with a 12.408. Miller also took the win in the heat race. In the main Clark Miller took home the win followed by Miller, Baird and Martin. The biggest division of the day was the senior division. James McAllister took fast time with a 12.012. The first heat was won by Ted Tamagini and the second heat was won by Irving Kenzy Jr. In the main event Chris Baker took home the win followed by Tamagini, Bartlow and McFarland. For the first time this season the youth divisions had enough entries to be separated into the two classes. In the 50cc Pee Wee division Nolan Miller took the fast time with a 14.429. Miller also took home the heat race win and the main event win followed by Chambers, Lingron and Williamson. In the 65/125 division Devin Kinnoff took fast time with a 13.656. Brandon Weller won the heat race. Kinnoff won the main event followed by Weller, Debaca and Shumale. In the Vet Mini division fast time was won by Michael Mannion with a 12.523. Rick Kerrigan won the heat race while the main event win went to Mannion followed by Miranda, Kerrigan and Larkin. Rob Lanoy set the fast time in the Vintage Open division with a 12.887. Gary Durbin won the heat race and the main event. Michael Mannion set fast time in the 230 Premier and also taking the win in the heat race. The main event was won by Rick Kerrigan followed by Mannion, Miranda and Cole. Kevin Keeran set the fast time of 12.440 in the Open DTX division. Keeran won the heat race. In the main event Chris Baker took home the win followed by Keeran, Tamagini, and Barlow. The racing action returns to Lakeport Speedway on Saturday night with the Gravitate Modifieds, Taco Bell Bombers, Volvo Rents Mini Stocks, Jammers and the Pro 4 Modifieds.
