8 Relief Camps established; 1406 shifted In wake of firing across international border around 1400 persons have migrated from areas of Bobiyan, Pansar, Pahadpur, Manyari, Londi, Chhan Lal Din and chakra areas. District administration has operationalised 8 relief camps at Hiranagar, Marheen, Haria Chak, Plat, Nagial, Chhan Khatrian and Banyari in Hiranagar sub division. So far 1406 perons have been housed in these relief camps and provided basic ammenities and secuirty. Around 10 houses have been reported to be damaged.Firing continued at many forward posts rill 3am last night and started again at 730am which lead to injuries to 5 persons including three women and a minor who referred to GMC Jammu after first aid. Rs 5000 each have been provided to all injured persons. Buses were pressed into action early morning for safe evacuation; 2 bullet proof bunkers were also deployed in forward areas for evacuation. Emergency response centre under supervision of Deputy Commissioner has been set up at PWD Guest House House Hiranagar for coordinating relief and rescue arrangements. DC Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with SSP Pawan Parihar,ACR Suraj Parkash Rukwal, SDM Sohan Lal, ACD Tilak Raj, ExEn PHE Taj Choudhary, ExEn PDD Karam Chand, CMO, CEO and senior officers visited forward areas and all relief camps for ensuring proper relief and civic ammenities. Administration has provided blankets, ration, firewood, lighting and other basic ammenities at all relief camps where senior officers have been deployed as camp officers and camp commanders. It is pertinent to menrion here that under Mission Hifazat relief and rescue measures were planned by administration for safety and security of border residents.
