8 week Get Lean Challenge started today, and Ive received a couple - TopicsExpress

8 week Get Lean Challenge started today, and Ive received a couple of questions that Ill answer here (in case others are also wondering): Q1: you mentioned that we typically eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. What constitutes as a permitted snack? portion, content, etc. And when ought we have these snacks? between breakfast/lunch, and lunch/dinner? A: The mention of 3 meals and 2 snacks is just an example, and the intention of this weeks habit is not to dictate how much or when you eat, but rather to get you thinking about the unhealthy foods you eat in a week and cutting back on them. Thats it. If this seems easy, then its probably a sign that this habit is one that you already do well. Most people who have done this challenge have found at least one or two of the changes to be very easy. The neat thing is that its not the same one or two for everyone, which is why theyre all still there. I hope that helps. Q2:Indulgences are a normal part of life! But heres my question: Does this mean I can have only 5 indulgences (total) in a week, or 5 less indulgences in a week than my usual 20? A: It means only 5 per week. As an aside, I find this is such an interesting topic. The feedback I get about this habit is split down the middle: half think its way too easy, and the other half think its really hard. Just goes to show how different we all are! Good luck! If hitting 5 per week ends up being a seemingly impossible task for you, then aim to cut back instead, and know that there will be 7 more weeks of habits, and odds are youll have an easier go of them. Q3: do I just select one indulgence from your list (i.e. chocolate) or do I have to consider the entire list and only allow 5 occurrences per week (chocolate one day, ice cream another day, pie the next day, cookies the next day, none for 2 days and then a chips reward on the 7th dayetc)? A: The list is just an example to give you an idea of the types of things that would be good to consider as indulgences as opposed to part of ones daily menu. Think about the foods you eat, and whatever seems like it belongs, probably does. Those are the things you want to keep to 5 per week on this program. Q4: Is it too late to join? A: It is for this round, but if we get enough interest (my guess is that there will be), We will run it again starting the first Monday in February. If that sounds good, then head over here to sign up: https://customstrength.wufoo.eu/forms/get-lean-2015-registration/
