9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy - TopicsExpress

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:9-10 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Exodus 19:6 shows us that the children of Israel are a “kingdom of priests”. We, being God’s people through Jesus Christ seem to have a very similar call according to the text here. Being a priest has it’s responsibilities. If we are essentially a “kingdom of priests”, what does that mean for the rest of our lives? I believe we should represent the King and try to do his desire. Will we be perfect? No. We are still sinners saved by grace. We notice a difference between people who are genuinely trying and people who are faking when it comes to work. How much more clear does our father in Heaven see the difference in us? If we have a heart to serve Him, God sees. King David was a man after God’s own heart, and look at the trouble he kept slipping into. Other supporting verses... Isaiah 9:2; 42:16; Acts 26:18; 2 Corinthians 4:6 JS
