9 years ago today, on November 13, 2005, I drove to work oblivious to what had just happened in the town of Woodward. My phone wasnt working right, and I hadnt been watching or listening to the local news when I drove into town that morning. Woodward and much of central Iowa had just received 2-3 inches of snow. What I saw was so bizarre that I had to question if what I was seeing was real: Families and neighbors were picking up their belonging and pieces of their homes out of the snow. Pieces of buildings were scattered all over the golf course, Main Street and all throughout town. Over a dozen homes were decimated, and dozens of homes were damaged. A tornado had just ripped through town the night before, on November 12, 2005. Thankfully, nobody was killed or seriously injured.
