A-B-C Urges Citizens… Support Agenda for Prosperity By Umarr Sesay The Deputy National Coordinator of the Attitude and Behavioral Change (ABC) Secretariat, Madam Nanette Thomas, has urged Sierra Leoneans to compliment the recently launched Agenda for Prosperity by demonstrating positive attitudes that will help ensure its success for the benefit of the entire nation. Speaking to The Exclusive at the ABC Secretariat at Youyi building, Brookfields, Madam Thomas said the Agenda for Prosperity will not succeed without the support of all classes of Sierra Leoneans. She highlighted that as President Koroma stated, prosperity does not fall like manna from heaven: that it is our responsibility as citizens to work for its success, knowing that Rome was not built in a day. Speaking further, the ABC second-in-command maintained that the grass roots should not accept and glorify poverty but consider it as a challenge that can be overcome through diligent hard work. The deputy national coordinator mentioned that the dependency syndrome in Sierra Leonean is the main contributing factor behind some of the irrelevant complains made against the government, forgetting that we the citizens also have an important role to play in good governance. However, she lamented that we neglect that all-important contribution to the state and mistakenly think that government alone should do it all. Madam Nanette Thomas cited the lawlessness and corrupt practices demonstrated everyday by citizens. “I tell you for free, until we start taking up our responsibility as citizens, only then will we be taking a step in the right direction for the Agenda for Prosperity,” Madam Thomas maintained.
