A Blast from the past!! BE SURE TO READ THE WHOLE POST!! I had the most amazing memory this morning and Ill share it with you just for fun and because I cant remember all the facts and because no one ever posts anything to this page. Please help me fill in the gaps of my memory if you were around DMCC in 1986. 28 years ago today I got up and went to work at a project out at Luna and LBJ that was the first of the 2 mirror image buildings we built there. I think we called it C-3 but maybe it was C-2. I was thinking that we built C-3 first (Nows the time to chime in with help). I was a new employee (about a month) and had not been on a project so well staffed before. The Senior Project Manager was John Scheef, Project Manager was Charlie DeMack (baby Huey) with superintendents Harvey Christisen and Robert Jones (now thats a name from the past isnt it. I almost didnt dredge it up) and a couple of guys as time keepers and gofers..Kenny Johnson (Charlies brother) and a guy named Lincoln ( need help with the last name). The secretary was a really cute blonde who later moved into the office Im thinking her name was Melissa??? Maybe?? Need help again. Frank Benenate was doing a big finish out project across the street that I cant remember the name of either. I think Frank was on the project for about 4 years...its a huge building. My recall of the highlights of this project is that we had a field employee walk off into thin air on about the 4th or 5th floor and that when the project was over, Robert Jones was gone and so was Kenny Johnson and Charlie DeMack. Hexed project?? I also started a list on a legal pad (no computers at that time except in the accounting office..anyone remember that huge monstrosity back in that glassed in room??) of how many cigarettes John Scheef bummed from me. I did many projects with John and so I finally gave up and just demanded that John give me $ 30 bucks once a month. Which he did, by the way. I received a call mid-morning from my daughter that she was at the hospital to deliver my 2nd grandchild and went tearing off to Lewisville (where I lived then) in time to be there for the delivery. Today is my wonderful granddaughter Jamie Leighs 28th birthday.
