A Call for a MILITARY COUP of Dallas Disgraceful Homeless Program!!! THOUSANDS OF HOMELESS VETS ARE IN THE STREETS OF DALLAS!!! CALLING ALL BETTER OFF MILITARY VETS TO PITCH A TENT FOR HOMELESS VET!!! NATIONALLY, ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT, 200,000 VETERANS ARE HOMELESS. OVER 1.6 MILLION CHILDREN ARE HOMELESS EACH YEAR.” Operation Care. OPCARE.Com CBS 11 NEWS JUST TOLD US THAT DALLAS IS NOT PREPARED FOR OUT VETERANS RETURNING HOME FROM AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ!!! This is news? We are involved in our Nations longest war, and over the past 10 years the homeless veteran population has been steadily rising in Dallas, as well as the total homeless population at-large because of the recession. Veterans with physical and mental disabilities are becoming homeless because Dallas has not prepared for them...WTF? Today, Dallas has about 10,000 homeless, with about 3000 homeless vets. Dallas promotes itself as doing a great job in caring for the homeless, where just the opposite is true based on the real numbers. The City spent $23 million for a 300 bed/mat-on-floor facility, where there waa a documented need for 3000 beds/mats. The Bridge, DALLAS PROPAGANDA SHOW PIECE, is a cockroach nest, a greased pit, WHICH BLIGHTS THE NEIGHBORHOOD, which keeps chemically addicted, prescription-controlled homeless as their branded slaves to bring in the government money, and pay their executives $150,000, $200,000, $300,000 a year...and one of them is a drug-personality-modified-pawn of Mayor Rawlings...WHO HAVE THEIR HEADS UP THEIR ARSES ABOUT HOW TO CARE FOR ALL OF OUR HOMELESS. The Mayors favorites are making millions on building Permanent Supportive Housing where great profits come from tax credits and government grants. These are the mayors pigs eating at the taxpayers’ expense. The Mayors church is even involved. SICKENING!!! But the greatest need for Dallas homeless is a safe place and a safe bed to lay his and her head on tonight, and tomorrow night. Dallas homeless, our homeless vets need basic shelter as our military has always effectively provided. Arent tents outside churches, or in the back yards of military vets better than the squalor our homeless vets are living in? Thats why our military is best suited to provide for, TO TAKE COMMAND OF HOMELESS SHELTERING. And it is most fitting that this new approach start in Dallas, Texas, a most wicked, New Babylon city. Want proof of how badly Dallas is doing in caring for our homeless vets? The proof is in the Pay Later Costs. It is common knowledge that theres at least a 2 to 1 pay later vs. pay now homeless cost. Call the Sheriff and ask how many homeless are in the county jail each night? 2,200 homeless, 1/3rd of the jail population, at an annual cost of $44 million. Call the County Administrator and find out that the unrecovered health care cost for Dallas homeless is around $60 to $80 million each year. WILL WE ALLOW OUR HOMELESS VETERANS TO SUFFER OUT THERE IN SQUALOR AND DISEASE? IS THIS JUST ANOTHER OF THE MANY SIGNS OF HOW WE HAVE MORALLY DETERIORATED AS A NATION, SUPPOSEDLY UNDER GOD, WHERE WE TREAT SOME OF OUR VETERANS LIKE TOILET TISSUE? _______________________________________________________________ PLEASE CALL THE CITY SECRETARY MONDAY TO SIGN UP TO BE A SPEAKER ON THIS AGANDA ITEM...214-670-3738 Consent Agenda Item 17. Proposed Dallas Homeless Facility The Bridge Budget Changes RECOMMENDATIONS: REJECT THE COUNTY AND STATE CONTRIBUTIONS. DALLAS COUNTY MUST TAKE OVER ALL HOMELESS SERVICING FUNCTIONS Comments by Richard P. Sheridan, District 6, P.E., N.Y., Activist and Gadfly RichardPSheridanPE@gmail The budgeted monies/changes to run Dallas Homeless facility The Bridge are woefully low. How can we find out how much to budget to adequately care for our homeless? We can look to both New York City, and the Dallas County Jail and Parklands unrecovered Homeless health care costs. At this time we must also consider if the city should continue to be in the homeless servicing business. 1. It is law in New York to provide homeless shelter to all, thats ALL, not just a small segment of the homeless like the chronically homeless. This law sets the Citys annual budget at about $500 to $600 million from the collected tax roles...WOW!!! However, this big number equates to about 25 cents per day for each of the 8 million New York residents. The city of Dallas is proposing a new annual budget for the Bridge at $5.6 million a year, which comes from both city, county, and state taxpayers, and equates to 1 cent per person per day. Even cost of living adjustments will not justify a 1/20th budget of New Yorks Citys Budget if we want to shelter all of our homeless. Based on New Yorks numbers, and lower Dallas cost of living adjustment, The Bridges annual budget should be around $50 million each year to shelter all Dallas homeless. Did someone just have a heart attack? Hold on, we are spending at least double this amount of money with County services to care for the homeless. 2. Dallas Countys jails daily homeless population is about 2,200 homeless, or 1/3rd of the jails total daily population of about 6,660. That equates to an annual Dallas County homeless sheltering cost of about $44 million. The County Jail is Dallas largest homeless sheltering facility. Last year Parklands Health C are System had an unrecovered health care cost of about $650 million, with the homeless accounting for about $60 to $80 million annually. So combined Dallas County is paying a PAY LATER COST IN EXCESS OF $100 million each year. It is common knowledge that there is at least a twice PAY LATER COST when the homeless are not provided with the safety, and community of basic emergency and transitional shelter. For the mentally ill, the ratio is as high as 10 to 1! 3. With The Bridge only servicing a very small fraction of Dallas homeless population, and with the other city non-profits service providers also coming way short in sheltering all of our homeless, many being mothers with children, and veterans, I see Dallas homeless program a failure, and much more as a propaganda piece, a look good piece, than a program that really serves the homeless. The Bridge rejects able bodied men and women looking for shelter as they are either looking for work, or working and saving to get their own place. Thats over 60 percent of Dallas homeless population. 4. The City spent $23 million for a 300 bed/mat-on-floor facility, where there was a documented need for 3000 beds/mats. These are the mayors pigs eating at the taxpayers expense. The Mayors church is even involved. SICKENING!!! 6. I recommend that Dallas County take over all aspects of caring for our homeless, by the force of law if necessary, to truly and biblically care for our homeless. Such an action will result in a significant reduction in County jail and health care costs, and county taxpayers, including City of Dallas residents, will see a lowering in their property taxes, and a great spiritual uplift from knowing that finally something good is being done for our homeless For More Info Contact: Rich Sheridan 972-815-7570 RichardPSheridanPE@gmail
