A Comedy Central producer was accidentally shot and killed by an LA Sheriffs deputy. LASD responded to reports of a stabbing at a West Hollywood apartment - A man matching the suspects description came out, covered in blood, and police thought he was the stabber - but he was one of the victims. 30-year-old John Winkler, a producer on TV comedy Tosh.0, later died at a hospital. LASD was quick to admit to the tragic mistake.
