A Devotional for such a time as this: - from: Stanley, C. F. (2000). Into His presence (p. 102). Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers. _________________________________ The Riches of God’s Grace SCRIPTURE READING: Romans 6:1–3 KEY VERSE: John 1:16 Of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. The gospel of God’s grace, His full provision for man’s sin—present life and eternal destiny—is frequently perverted and attacked. At the foundation of most false religions is a denial of the free gift of salvation and an embrace of good works. Others caution that the good news of grace can lead to a lifestyle of sin without appropriate punishment. “I am saved by grace, so why does it matter how I live?” is the standard argument. The Scriptures clearly refute both errors, citing man’s inability to know God apart from the Savior’s initiative and man’s responsibility to live obediently. The rebellious believer reaps what he sows and is a most miserable creature. However, we should never let such opposition dilute the overwhelming truth of amazing grace. Critics can never dampen the transforming, liberating power of God’s free, unconditional, unmerited love and mercy. The gospel of grace, though misunderstood, cannot be replaced. It is the cornerstone for all of life, illuminating the goodness of God and attracting us to Him. Delight yourself today in the God of all grace. Dear Lord, today I will delight myself in Your grace that has made full provision for my present life and eternal destiny. - via Logos 5 #devotionalforsuchatimeasthis #christjesus #vineofchristministries #theword #studyscripture #god #biblestudy #bible #jesus #faith
