A Huck’s Hero salute to Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber. He secured at least one vote by saving a woman’s life. He was driving through downtown Portland when he saw a woman lying unconscious on a sidewalk. Kitzhaber is a former ER doctor, so he performed CPR until paramedics arrived and got her heart restarted. So hat’s off to Gov. Kitzhaber. Having the governor drive around looking for people to give CPR to doesn’t sound like a very efficient health care plan, but it obviously worked a lot better than the Oregon Obamacare exchange did.
