A MESSAGE FROM THE WONDERFUL FOLKS AT THE SUS TRUST Now that all the excitement of midsummer has passed, we are still working hard on the Carwynnen Quoit project to produce a commemorative book, an app and a walks brochure. Contained in the time capsule buried at the end of July was the attached delightful cartoon by 12 year old Solboy, telling the story of the quoit. If you dont follow our Facebook Carwynnen Quoit page, you wont have seen Steve Northcotts time lapse film of the dawn comets on 22nd June. The most visible is at 18 seconds. https://youtube/watch?v=8dydM2stVeo We are planning to create a new ‘pavement’ directly above the Neolithic one (now buried under 2 feet of soil) – this isn’t intended to be a faithful reconstruction, but rather part of a living monument. So if anyone has a stone that is special to them that they would like to see incorporated, please bring it along. What we’re really looking for is something ranging in size between a golf ball and a tennis ball. It might be difficult to squeeze all of you in to the excavation area when we start at midday on Sunday 28th September, but bring along your stones and we’ll make sure they get included. Bear in mind that over time the pavement will erode, get overgrown and any maintenance may be erratic - the stones will not be set into cement or anything other than earth. It is also likely it will be both added to and taken-away from, so you may not want to include an object that is too precious. I have won an award for my part in the project. We will be able to publicise it fully at the end of the month after the presentation. Thank you all for your support.
