A NATION THAT FORSAKES ITS WARRIORS IS ONE MARCHING THE ROAD TO RUIN. That is a belief that I came to after serving veterans for 37+ years working for the Department of Veterans Affairs. My career began in 1970 as a food service worker at the Bedford, Massachusetts VA medical center and ended in January 2008 at the Detroit VA medical center as the Chief of Business Practices and Chief Information Officer. During that time I have had the honor and privilege of serving our nations warriors. I have met and served and worked with many men and women, veterans of WWI thru PG1. I have known and served veterans who were part our great nations history to include; two living Medal of Honor recipients, Former POWS from WWII , Korea & Viet Nam , Pearl Harbor survivors, B 17 pilots, one who bailed out of his plane on more than one occasion, Tuskegee airmen, a Bataan Death March survivor veterans of D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, the Battle of the Pacific and many many more veterans that my memory at this moment cant specifically recall. My career with the VA health care system was a tremendously rewarding honor and privilege that I would not trade for all the worlds wealth and it is one that I highly recommend. To past, present and future veterans my deepest appreciation for your service and sacrifice.
