So New York state has introduced Texting areas for those who’s text is more important than driving. Does anyone think that these arrogant idiots who text at 90 miles an hour are going to pull into a rest area to text? Here’s what they should have done. Pass a law forcing the service provider to advise the texter that their text is being transmitted to a moving vehicle, and in the event of an accident you will be implicated in any resulting lawsuit. It’s a fair warning! You can not now say, “I didn’t know he was driving when I texted him and he killed those four people replying to me." It’s a well known fact that these companies have the technology to determine if a text is being sent from a moving vehicle or is being received at a moving vehicle and have the means to stop the service until the vehicle stops. But they make billions off of texts every year and despite the slaughter on the roads from distracted drivers these companies are not going to prevent texting from a moving vehicle unless there is a law put into practice. Maybe it will take a serious accident in which Verizon or some such provider is sued for billions because right now they’re getting away with murder. I can’t understand why the money hungry lawyers haven’t figured that one out yet. I’m glad that at least one state has acted on my initiative to punish repeat offenders who continue to text and drive, by surgically removing their thumbs. Unfortunately it’s in Punjab India. Still! We’re getting there. After all, My rants go out worldwide to at least 20 people.
