A Note From The Founders to Start the Year: Dear friends, The first time we sailed the Galapagos Islands together was onboard a 1902 Baltic trader, a wooden sailing boat that once transported cargo in the Baltic Sea. Her accommodations were probably not much different from those offered onboard the HMS Beagle when Charles Darwin first visited the archipelago. Nonetheless, the enchantment of the islands, untouched by human hands, was planted deep in our hearts. We knew then, the Galapagos was a place to be experienced as privately and intimately as possible, and this was the start of Quasar Expeditions. Time has flown since 1986, and seemingly as quickly as a gust of wind, another wonderful year is gone and a new year is starting. Many great memories are consequent to this amazing 2014 for which all of us at Quasar Expeditions are very thankful. In 2014 Quasar Expeditions launched new products, expanded operations in South America, and became a regional boutique DMC. We released our new Wellness programs in Galapagos & Ecuador for 2015, as well as Winter Puma Tracking Safaris in the wilds of Patagonia. We had the fortune of creating fabulous new partnerships and have further strengthened bonds with lifelong friends and colleagues throughout the world. These wonderful memories add on to those that we have continued to accumulate over the past 29 years as the founders of the company, and we long, and will continue to work hard, for many more. It is truly amazing to note that stepping onto a trail on Fernandina Island is almost exactly as it was back when we first did it almost three decades ago! Though these are wonderful memories, they are also a result of the care, nurturing and hard work not only by all of us in the Galapagos Islands, but also thanks to the undying support of our clients. We would like to thank you all for being a part of our memories, a part of making sure we continue to create more for those who travel with us, and for being a part of the caring and nurturing team of hard working folks who, along with Quasar Expeditions, will continue to protect incomparable yet delicate destinations such as #Galapagos, #Ecuador, #MachuPicchu and #Patagonia.
