A Pleasant Conference with a Fantastic Group of Attendees I am - TopicsExpress

A Pleasant Conference with a Fantastic Group of Attendees I am composing this in the Atlanta airport on my way to State College, Pennsylvania, for their Winter Conference. Ill be teaching the foundational level of the Creation Gospel paradigm, which is a shift in gears from last weekends Channukah Conference in Nashville. I always enjoy the Nashville conferences because its like a family reunion of favorite people, including many from the Gatlinburg Ladies Retreat. I always wish I had more time to spend with Jessica, Brenda, Jane, Cathy, Lisa, Kisha, Nici, and the other ladies. Maybe in the Kingdom well all live in the same neighborhood, and well run into one another wherever we go! The difficulty with a conference is the limited window of time to present so much material. Sometimes the key for someone might be what I didnt have time to say. There was only time to teach a little of the Spirit-filled Family, teach a little about Hebrew prayer, teach a little about the forgotten Channukah that preceded the Maccabean Channukah, teach a little about Torah seeds and fruit, teach a little about Channukah and hermeneutics from Chaggai, teach a little about the boiling red ass vs the humble servant ass in Miketz... This is incentive to develop the ideas more thoroughly in the workbooks and HRN videos, but I still long for a yeshiva-style school where we can devote the face-to-face hours of study each question deserves. Bazrat HaShem, when I retire, perhaps we can begin developing a safe place to learn and grow in understanding. Once I return home, I plan to start developing the return trip to ulpan next November with eight select students, and we may have an opportunity for a yeshiva-style study week in between ladies retreats in New Mexico in 2015. A very dear couple donated an RV to us prior to Sukkot, so even though Big Daddy is now working part-time for the Sheriffs office here at home, were hoping we (including Uzi and Shine) can travel a bit more after I retire in 2015. Id also like to complete Workbooks Five Volume Five and Workbook Six before I retire, but there have been several roadblocks to completion even though Id planned to finish them before the end of this year. Having had such a profound experience in Israel this month, however, I now see the Divine Wisdom of the delay. I needed to experience some things in order to bring those experiences to the writing. I now have peace to resume writing because Jerusalem is the compass that always reminds me to be yashar. It is never enough to be informational as disciples of Yeshua, but to be transformational. The boundary of the Torah is what ultimately frees the Ruach to move over the text and sprout the creative fruit that bears the Seed of the Word. We will send more information on the early November ulpan trip as we work with the ulpan for a group price and negotiate accommodations. Again, we anticipate it costing around $3000 plus airfare, which we will likely leave up to the individual since some people like to use their airline miles. Well give you our flight information in case you want to sync with ours. This is not a sightseeing tour! It is a Hebrew language study trip to Jerusalem that will include some touring afterward if desired. The five days of ulpan we will stay in apartment close to the ulpan, and I can describe those five days thus: 1. Get up in the morning, shower, make coffee, study. 2. Walk to ulpan. Study with a tutor one-on-one until around 1230. 3. Quick lunch. Run across the street for a felafel or kubeh. 4. Go back to ulpan for more one-on-one touring Jerusalem historical sites to practice Hebrew. 5. Mid-afternoon, return to apartment. Study or quick nap. 6. Study until supper. 7. Go out for supper at one of the awesome restaurants on/off Emek Refaim. 8. Go back to the apartment and study for next days quiz until bedtime. Yes, the first five days are off the charts on the geek meter, but yes, I am a nerd. We will see if it is possible for the students who desire to do so to celebrate Shabbat with an Orthodox family. The second week will be adventures of the more spontaneous kind and a move to the Ben Yehuda area. This may include Machaneh Yehuda shuk, Israel Museum, etc. You dont have to stay with the group if you want to explore from the city center on your own. All kinds of day tours leave from that area. If there is a lot of interest, we may be able to schedule an additional trip a little sooner. After this weekend, Ill be home for several weeks, so I hope to do better with the posts and weekly email. Our love to all of you, Hollisa and Big Daddy
