A THREE-WAY TIE (TRANSIT, OTJ AND THY WOMB) BEFORE TRANSIT EMERGED AS THE TOP CHOICE Leo Martinez, the head of Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), announced on Wednesday that “Transit” won by 1 vote against close rivals Erik Matti’s “On The Job” and Brillante Mendoza’s “Thy Womb” to become the country’s official entry to the Oscars. The deciding vote came from Peque Gallaga, the head of the selection committee, after the three films mentioned above figured in a three-way tie. _________________________________________________________ It was a very close fight (three-way tie) among Transit, On The Job and Thy Womb with Transit edging out the other two via the tie-breaking vote of Peque Gallaga..... So that means some FAP members really chose Thy Womb... Clearly, it was not an overwhelming, runaway win for Transit.... THY WOMB GAVE ONE GOOD FIGHT! :-)
