A TRIBUTE TO THE JERSEY CITY POLISH COMMUNITY I had the chance to participate with National Pierogi Day ( I had a couple) and it reminded me the Polish traditions and culture I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to in Jersey City...... So tonight, well pay tribute to the Polish community of JERSEY CITY....for me specifically, I think of my classmates from Our Lady of Czestochowa. (Rich, Walt, Walter John, Matthew, Ann and Mike, Chris ) What were some of the Polish traditions you recall growing up in Jersey City? What parish did you grow up in.....OLC or ST. ANTHONYs? What was your favorite Polish recipe? Were you first generation or second generation?.........Anyones family come through Ellis Island? What were some of the Polish Businesses in Jersey City that you remember? Any of them still exist today?
