A Tip From Pam: Ive heard good and bad things about what I am doing, but its working for me so I thought Id pass it on. I did the Atkins diet about 15 years ago and lost about 30 pounds. Im not excessively overweight, but I lost the weight in about a month. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 10 years ago. It runs in my family. I have followed the diabetes diet. Because I am on insulin, I have put some pounds back on and decided to try Atkins again. I started it on Tuesday. As of today, for the last 3 days, my blood sugar has stabilized to almost normal. I have cut the insulin in half and blood sugar is still stabilized no higher than 120 with no crashes. My doctor is thrilled. Just thought sharing this might help someone, and by the way, I feel great!! You have to be disciplined to do this.
