A US aircraft carrier has set sail for the Philippines to speed up relief efforts after Super Typhoon Haiyan killed an estimated 10,000 people in one city alone. The USS George Washington, which carries 5,000 sailors and more than 80 aircraft, set sail from Hong Kong, with four other US Navy ships also setting sail for the disaster zone. Officials in the Philippines have been overwhelmed by the scale of the typhoon, one of the strongest on record, which tore a path through the islands on Friday, displacing around 660,000 people, with many having no access to food, water or medicine. Report by Lindsay Brown.
