And his murderer thought he was going to get away with it because the world had sufficiently pathologized him to believe that because he was white, had blonde hair, and unleashed white tears, he would get away with it. What he didnt count on was that currently, when racism is blatant and undeniable, white supremacy *sometimes* has no choice but to do the right thing as part of the performance of convincing the world that white supremacy doesnt actually exist, or, at least, exists as some fringe idea and not as the very fabric of the way the world operates. Lucky for justice that Dylan Schumaker was too inexperienced to master the art of subtlety and was ignorant enough to do what other racists are careful not to: speak his true intentions out loud. A baby is dead, but if you read the stories about his murder, youll notice that they are concerned more about Dylans tears than the tears of the murdered baby. And if you read the comments, which I dont suggest you do, they are mostly blaming the babys mother for Dylans actions. So it seems that even when white supremacys is forced to do the right thing, it remains white supremacist nonetheless. Rest in peace, Austin. In Boller’s last words to Schumaker, he told the 17-year-old that in his short life, he’s caused much despair to many people. Boller said he listened intently to Schumaker’s testimony during the trial and called him a manipulator, who minimizes his actions. Boller said, The records will show that only July 23rd, 2013 in a phone call to your mother from the Holding Center you stated, and I got a quote from the court reporter, ‘I am a 16-year-old blond. Probably all I have to do is cry in front of the jury and they’re going to feel sorry for me.’ End quote.
