A bit late in posting due to some other unforeseen circumstances, but it is time for some baby goat pictures! Due to the awesome power of Goat Math, we are the proud new owners of not one, but TWO baby bucklings! Goats need buddies, and of course the 6 goats we already have are apparently not enough according to the principles of Goat Math. We went on Friday to pick up our future herd sire (oooh, sounds like I am going to become a real true goat breeder, doesnt it lol!?) and somehow another baby buckling-destined-to-be-wether came along for the ride. How does that happen Kristina? Vocabulary lesson of the day: wethering is castrating in goat-speak. Shh, Birch doesnt know that yet. We did keep the baby boys in the laundry room the first night - so much for the no goats in the house rule lol, and the one shot is them playing and facing off to headbutt- it is amazing how instinctive that behavior is at only two weeks of age. They are settling in to their cozy stall where they can hear and see the rest of the herd, and are very sweet and cute. I will be posting more pics as they grow! Thanks so much Kelli Mellott for the little boys, they are doing great! Buckeye is the tan (chamoise) one, and Birch is the black and white one.
