From Goma International Airport on Peace Day there will be feature performances from Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Akon and regional artists Lexxus Legal, Dety Darba, traditional drummers Sango’A, and comedian Mzee Mbukuli. The celebration will be hosted by Ayden and includes contributions from Jude Law and Jeremy Gilley. Founded in 1999 by filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, the non-profit organisation Peace One Day drove the initiative that led to the unanimous adoption by the United Nations member states of an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence on 21 September – Peace Day. Peace One Day will make history in 2014 by holding a concert at Goma International Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This celebration will be headlined by five-time Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Akon and features performances from local artists such as Lexxus Legal,Dety Darba, traditional drummers Sangoa, and comedian Mzee Mbukuli. It will be hosted by Ayden and features contributions from Jude Law and Jeremy Gilley.
