A brief electric outage today at 4:40 p.m. affected about 1,000 customers near Mary Greeley Hospital. Power was restored in 10 minutes. It was most likely caused by equipment failure connected to Sundays power outage. After the Sunday outage, electricity was rerouted to re-energize customers as quickly as possible. Today, while attempting to reconfigure the system back to normal, a breaker opened suggesting a malfunction. Ames Electric Services has again rerouted power in order to isolate the problem.
