A busy few days. Flight to Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand; an "ex-pat" town (ie lots of foreigners). So far have ridden elephants (right behind her big floppy ears!) and feed her the small sweet bananas they have here, rafted down a river muddy with monsoon rain, and petted tigers. (Full size!!!) Also saw a Thai boxing match - loud music, yelling fans and scrappy little guys punching. Very fun! Today relaxing after Night Market last night. Street after street closed to traffic and full of sellers - clothes, food, jewelry, paintings, etc. Walked 2 hours and never got to see it all. Runs from 4 pm to midnight. Tomorrow 3 hour van ride north to Thailand/Laos/Burma border. Have to take extra money and copies of Passport to get in. See famous White Temple and the Long Neck tribe (with rings around necks!) Super hot and humid but so far we have dodged rain - early morning or we are inside. Will try to load some pix!
