A common fit myth is that muscle weighs more than fat. One pound - TopicsExpress

A common fit myth is that muscle weighs more than fat. One pound of muscle WEIGHS THE SAME as one pound of fat, just as one ton of bricks weighs the same as one ton of feathers. Weight is weight. The difference is in the density! One pound of muscle is MORE DENSE than one pound of fat. What that means is muscle mass occupies much less space in your body than fat does. As we mentioned last week, its much more important to focus on how your clothes are fitting, than the number on the scale! As you lose body fat, yet gain muscle mass, the scale may not move much, but you will shrink in size! Leucine is a great way to hold onto and build muscle mass as you lose body fat.
