A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to begin preliminary work on a group asphalt paving project in CHRISTIAN County starting TONIGHT. The work has been scheduled at night to help reduce traffic disruptions. Motorists should be alert for milling, Paving and associated road at the following locations in Hopkinsville and Christian County: KY 272/Canton Street/ West 14th Street from mile point 10.151 at KY 1007/North Drive extending east to mile point 10.904 at Bethel Street, a distances of 0.75 miles KY 400/State Line road from US 41-Alternate from mile pint 0.0 extending east to KY 115 at mile point 1.377, a distance of 1.38 miles. US 41-Alternate/Ft. Campbell Boulevard from mile point 13.668 at Old Clarksville Pike extending north to mile point 14.212 at the South Fork Little River Bridge, a distance of 0.54 miles. A crew expects to start along KY 272/14th Street in Hopkinsville tonight. On June 12th they plan to move to KY 400 followed by along US 41-Alternate starting on June 16th. Motorists should be prepared to encounter slowing and stopped traffic along these work zones. Appropriate caution is required. Again, all of this work is being scheduled at night to help avoid traffic disruptions during peak travel periods. Rogers Group is the prime contractor on this $635,550 group paving project. The work at these locations is expected to take about a week to complete, weather permitting.
