A couple of days ago I received an invitation to LIKE Ralph Irwin Studios from one of my friends. I first met Ralph during the construction of Van Buren First Assembly of God church on hwy 59 many years ago. Ralph was commissioned by Helen Hodo to create the copper cross which adorns the brick inset cross which faces the Highway. I was fascinated with Ralphs unique artistry. We have crossed paths a number of times over the years. I suppose the thing which I like most about Ralph is the fact that he and I serve the same Master. Ralph is a man of God. I have the privilege of hearing him lift up our community before the Lord each Tuesday morning at the Band of Brothers Bible Study Group at Heritage United Methodist. He and I represent 2 of the 15 +/- churches represented in the group which typically numbers from 25 to 45 men. ANYWAY, when searching, for fun, to see how many links Google would pull up if I searched Ralph Irwin Van Buren AR (180,000) I came across some links to various commissioned works he has created and stumbled upon the following video. I am delighted to call Ralph my friend. One day I hope to have something he has created on my property. One of my cousins, Caryl Huffstetler, said she was going to have to do some research and see if she could find a picture of the wall sculpture which hangs to your left as you enter Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith.
