A couple of grant opportunities! The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the release of a Request for Applications (RFA) for cities seeking economic revitalization assistance through the National Resource Network (The Network). Designed for economic revitalization, the Network is a first of its kind effort to bring together national experts under one organization to work with cities seeking to increase their economic competitiveness and to reverse population decline, job loss and high rates of poverty. City governments can submit an application to receive assistance from the Network by completing an online form. Eligibility for the Network is based on economic and demographic criteria. Approximately 275 cities are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. Public Art Initiatives Funded Bloomberg Philanthropies: Public Art Challenge The Public Art Challenge, an initiative of Bloomberg Philanthropies, will grant at least three cities up to $1 million each over two years to support temporary public art projects that celebrate creativity, enhance urban identity, encourage public-private partnerships, and drive economic development. The lead applicant should be a city of at least 30,000 residents. Applications must be submitted by December 15, 2014.To register for a grant… Grants Promote Native American Land Recovery Indian Land Tenure Foundation The Indian Land Tenure Foundation is a national, community-based organization serving American Indian nations and people in the recovery and control of their rightful homelands. The Foundation provides grants to Indian nations and nonprofit organizations that are working to promote education about Indian land issues, increase cultural awareness, create economic opportunity, and reform the legal and administrative systems that prevent Indian people from owning and controlling reservation lands. Letters of inquiry are accepted throughout the year. The remaining 2014 deadline for invited proposals is December 15th.
