A family crisis has passed. My daughter Huklas three sons, Tristan, Etienne, and Jordan have been returned to their mother by her divorced husband after being idnapped from their school over three and a half months ago. It has been a long hard journey of mediation. They one positive thing I have gained from this is a new respect for the legal system and the police here In Indonesia. It is as slow as molasses, but there is compassion and concern for women, children and families in it now since reformation and the new laws on human rights and the sepcific rights of women and children. Far from perfect, and it took a very strong, stubborn and courageous woman, Hukla, to get her children back. She didnt stop and didnt falter in making the law work for her. Now her boys are home.
