A few photographs of our dear friend, Battle of Britain veteran and hero, Wing Commander Robert Bob Foster DFC AE. His funeral took place at the Hastings Crematorium yesterday afternoon. Bobs coffin was met at the Crematorium by a flypast from Hurricane R4118 UP-W, flown by Air Commodore Keith Dennison (in difficult wind conditions) and by kind permission from its owner Peter Vacher. Bob flew this aircraft on occasions during the Battle of Britain whilst serving with No.605 Squadron. Beautiful and fitting tributes were read by both Nicolas Rigg and Group Captain Patrick Tootal OBE DL. Kaethe, Bobs widow, has asked that donations in memory of Bob should be made to the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust at Capel.
