A few things that have been brought up recently--- PLEASE READ---- I do not mean to sound disrespectful or ungrateful however I want to address a few things to help parents, contestants and my staff for a great weekend at all our events. FIRST I would like to address-- I get parents who come to registration who say they did not know about certain activities or other various items that is on the paperwork. Examples are the candy throw..... they did not know about Charity donations or what the charity was for or the items on the list. All my paperwork has clearly written what the charity is for that pageant. It is not ten extra points per every ten items. It is only ten points total. Once again do not open packages to increase your number counts. A pack of 12 pencils is ONE item. Not 12. A box of 64 crayons is not 64 items it is one item. A ream of paper is one item not 500. Toys for tots- DOLLAR TREE TOYS DO NOT BRING! I keep saying this over and over. How would you feel if I gave your child dollar tree prizes? Ten items are not a lot to ask for. If you go to Wal-Mart you can get coloring books, crayons, match box cars, Barbie dolls, a lot of other quality NAME BRAND toys for great prices that are on the approved list. I am adding to the National PW if you want to give a $50.00 GIFT card instead of toys due to traveling and space you may. HOWEVER we will check the amount on the card when handed in. Last year we received TWO gift cards. One card a mom told us there was a significant amount on that card $200.00 the card was even marked with the amount they stated written on the card. I was highly embarrassed when the Toys for Tots called me to say they went to the store and when the clerk verified the amount it was NOT what was written on the card it was only $10.00. YES that is correct. SECOND—Parents say they did not know about clothing restrictions and H/M, tanning restrictions for Natural, it is also on all the PW.. NATURAL MEANS NATURAL. Once again we realize yes other pageants allow different rules for natural. That is their prerogative to set their own rules and regulations. However we have our own rules follow mine as it is on the PW. 0-10 year old NATURAL contestants are only permitted MASCARA and LIPGLOSS. Natural you are not allowed any tanning solution, no fake hair at all, no fake eyelashes. Age’s 11-up you are allowed makeup! NO RESTRICTION on 11-up makeup! Just follow the no fake hair, no tanning, and no fake eyelashes! NO GOWNS—NO CUPCAKE DRESSES. High low dresses are allowed! They ARE NOT considered gowns! THIRD—I have one or two parents at every pageant argue about what their balances are. They state “Well I thought the price was” I SEND EVERY CONTESTANT A RECEIPT when I get your registration fee via PayPal--- If you’re using a PayPal address different then your actual email then YOU NEED to include that email in your PayPal comments, I send out numerous receipts to those PP emails to have people tell me OH I DO NOT USE THAT EMAIL--- Then PLEASE PUT THE EMAIL YOU WANT ALL MESSAGES SENT TO I AM NOT A MIND READER... If you are sending a money order please include on a slip of paper with the money order a note that includes contestants name, age, natural or glitz and for which pageant the money order is for, along with your email so I can email you a confirmation of receipt. I cannot tell you how many money orders I get with no information on them at all. I send balances due emails for a lot of my pageants, then I have parents get to registration and try to tell staff that is not what they have figured out..PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read your emails and address the balances due with me prior to coming to registration so it can be corrected if needed. ..OCCASIONALLY I do make an error, we all our human and can make mistakes. FORTH---- I ASK THAT PAYPALS NOT BE SENT AFTER A CERTAIN DATE... I figure out the balances due the cutoff of the pay pal date given to you. Please do not send after the allowed date to be received. I head to a pageant say on a Thursday... I swear I have 2 or 3 people know when I leave then send a PayPal. It is NOT marked on the folders because we are busy setting up and I am not checking emails. Do not send pay pals after the dates directed. I depend on cash at the pageant to pay for the Hotel, emcee, cash payouts, and other expenses. How would you feel if your child won CASH and I gave you a check or say well I will PayPal you the money? The pay pal cut off dates is given for several reasons. Also it takes 3-5 days to transfer pay pal into my checking account. We do take SQUARE at registration. FIFTH—Registration fees need to be sent in the amount stated, if it states $106.00 then send $106.00 not $100.00. If you are sending a money order it is $106.00 not $100.00. If the registration fee is $133.00 then send $133 regardless if you are paying CASH, MONEY ORDER or PAY PAL the amount of registration fee is what it is on the paperwork. Also even if you send it as a GIFT I still get pay pal fees taken off. Therefore PayPal is getting fees TWICE. Once from you and once from me. In otherwise Pay Pal is making money off us two times. When paying through pap pal send it as a service, and then they only take the fees once from mine end and not yours. If you are paying through pay pal for any other portion of your balances due you need to add on additional pay pal fees. If you do not it will be added on your balances due at registration. SIXTH---- I bombard you all with numerous messages regarding updates and other reminders for all my pageants. I send NUMEROUS emails,,, face book messages , numerous post regarding updated info, plus my PW is posted on the TOP of every group page....Honestly I feel my PW is very self explanatory. Also you are each given a schedule at registration. FOLLOW the schedule and the paperwork. If the party starts at 7pm, and candy throw states 7:30. We will do the candy throw at 7:30. If the gift exchange states 7:45 we will do the gift exchange at 7:45. I have had a few stragglers come in after the candy throw was over and gift exchange was done. Then I have parents say well we were eating, or she was napping, or any other excuse. We go by the schedules given at registration. Follow the schedules given to you at registration for stage time. We will go ahead of schedule if the group is all there. If you are not there and it is time for your age group to start you will be deducted points. We follow the schedule. We do not want to hear excuses. Do not try. Often times the H/M people get the blame, been there, I go to H/M and ask where a certain contestant is they say they left here 10 minutes ago. Even if it might be the H/M fault again not my problem, sorry. If others can be on time then no excuse for you. We will not play favoritism, take a break or excuse a late person. We run the pageant professionally and we will not cater to anyone. SEVENTH--- REGISTRATION TIMES Lately I am getting asked more and more. Can we register Saturday morning? If the Paperwork for instance at my Easter, Hillbilly, Big Top, Back to School, and National Paperwork state FRIDAY night registration then it is Friday night. Not Saturday morning. We do not switch it un-expectantly on you. When you register for each pageant make certain you make arrangements with your job to get off early. We cannot and will not make exceptions. If we do it for one then we need to do it for others. There are a lot of behind the scenes work that gets done after registration. We get judges packets completed, contestant umbers assigned, photo events are all judged after registration by a separate panel of judges. Charity items are counted and verified. It takes us another 2 to 4 hours after registration to complete everything listed above. It is impossible to do registration Saturday morning when competition starts at 8am. Also follow the registration times given. If it states 6pm to 9pm then be there at these times. EIGHTH—to make registration go faster, have your photo’s picked out prior to walking into registration room. Have all your old numbers removed off the back of the photo’s from previous pageants. It gets very confusing when judges see two or more numbers on the back of a photo. Have contestants name on the back of the photo. If doing a poster collage PUT CONTESTANTS NAME and AGE on back of poster. Makes the judging go faster. Bring your charity items to registration. Bring your bag of candy to registration for the candy throw. DO NOT BRING YOUR MUSIC, DO NOT BRING YOUR GIFT FOR THE PARTY!
