A few weeks ago much of the south was shut down by a few inches of snow. All the roads were jammed with cars, many abandoned for one reason or another. Spring is coming(maybe) and tornado/storm season. In 2003 a tree branch and a failed alarm caused a blackout from New York to Detroit and a big chunk of Canada. 55 million people were affected. Even if my tank was full when it happened I could have only gotten halfway home. Do you park your car at work with less than a half tank of gas? What if your dressed nice for work (or wherever you might be)and part way home the roads are jammed up or impassable? Does anyone keep a pack in the car with a few supplies if you need to leave it behind to get home? Something I have been thinking a lot about lately. Always have kept a few things in there because of the nature of my job but Im a long ways from home if something happens. A 40 min drive is a long walk if roads or cars are shutdown. im not a prepper or conspiracy theorist, but being prepared isnt a bad thing.
