A friend of mine Matt Thompson currently has a 1 yr teachers contract teaching in Repulse Bay, Nunavut. Many students there are going to school in falling apart running shoes in very cold winter climates. Currently Matt is on Christmas break here in St.Catharines and is trying to collect donations of slightly used boots and also money for shipping costs. The cost of shipping something to the Arctic circle is redicoulous. He has pretty good success with the footwear donations but still needs to cover shipping costs. The more money raised, the more he can ship. If you are in the vicinity of the Laundry Tub laundromat on Carleton at Sunnylea Dr. ,please take a minute of your time and drop off a loonies or toonie to help raise some money. They have a collection jar at the Laundry Tub as well as the accept donations of boots. Any boots not sent to Repulse Bay will be re-donated to Goodwill.
