A friend on FB with a Chinese surname received a letter from a political party addressed to Dear Friend asking her to vote a certain way in the referendum, including comment on trade of whisky and salmon to China and a Mandarin translation. Shes not from China and she doesnt speak Mandarin. On the comments thread a person with Bangladeshi name reported getting a similar letter. Whatever ones politics, such a patronising tactic that makes assumptions like that is really shoddy, verging on racist. Plus wheres my letter on the UKs ties with Norway?!
