A friend shared this with me on bison at Yellowstone running in the opposite direction from a super volcano that has been producing higher than normal seismic activity lately. The subject of the article questions if bison are sensing this activity and are truly fleeing the area. Being a former traffic accident investigator for the Army, however, I am intrigued that the bison are demonstrating such disciplined road courtesy. They are all carefully staying right of the center line and none appear to have been drinking! Concerning behavior, though, they may be fleeing a potential volcano--or, the park service may be supplementing their feed down the road. Anyone who has seen livestock in the field knows that they are very keen on time-tables and are careful to trot in come supper time. Maybe--maybe not?
