A good way to begin my Birthday--Patti is doing better--the dialysis is working and there are signs of improving kidney function. She is awake and alert and off her pain/sleep meds. Today the doctor will assess her lung function--big thing is to get her off the machines!! She has her sense of humor--and she lights up when she sees Gene and Sissy and me. What a truly lovely sight to see. I asked her if she thought her nurse Chris was cute--if she did bat her eyelashes--she did. We all had a great laugh, including Chris. He is a doll. Patti has her own RN 24/7--this hospital, Princess Anne Sentera is all new with the latest stuff--and a great staff. We truly feel your prayers and good wishes--and I love each and every one of you for them. We are crying with relief this morning--I guess I didnt realize how I have been holding back--relief!!!! She is not out of the woods yet, but she is getting stronger each day!
